Ryan grew up in Denver Colorado. He moved to Santa Barbara to play soccer at Westmont College in Montecito. He graduated in 1989 with a degree in Economics & Business. His first job was working in the fashion industry in Tokyo Japan and there he developed a strong work ethic working 10-12 hour days plus weekends. After that, he moved back to Vail, CO to be close to his family... (mom, dad and two sisters). In 1994 he opened a great little restaurant in Breckenridge, CO. It was a fun local coffee-house serving breakfast, lunch and dinner including a full bar and live music for Apres Ski. He sold the business in 2000.

He started his real estate career in 1996 and attained the number one top producer for one of the premier mountain real estate companies with over 80 agents.

In the summer of 2009, he and his friend Andy Alexander started SANTA BARBARA BROKERS, LLC, a local boutique luxury real estate company. Santa Barbara Brokers has consistently produced between $70,000,000-100,000,000 per year. In 2019 Santa Barbara Brokers was responsible for having the highest residential sale of the year in Santa Barbara at $28,000,000. Their client was a well known movie producer that bought a gorgeous property directly on the sand just south of Montecito.

Today, Ryan enjoys surfing, golfing and skiing every chance get gets. He and his wife Holly live in Montecito and a very active household with four daughters who are all competitive surfers and avid golfers.
